Putting a unique spin on venture philanthropy, Wellness Wishes is using our resources to fund not only our philanthropic initiatives, but relevant companies so as to promote both capitalistic pursuits and philanthropic endeavors. By funding business leaders with like-minded missions, we're in a perfect position to inspire and direct change. Like traditional venture capital funds, we're comfortable investing in start-ups, growth and risk-taking social ventures; and while we celebrate profit, our return lies in promoting social good.
It's fitting that we named this initiative "The Franklin Fund" after one of America's foremost Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin, who helped draft the Declaration of Independence, was one of its signers, represented the United States during the American Revolution, and was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention. Ben Franklin was a celebrated printer, publisher, author, inventor, scientist and diplomat, who will be remembered for his elegant writing as well as his wisdom and wit. Fighting for what he believed in until his death, Ben Franklin will always be remembered as a symbol of enterprise and opportunity, and the belief that passion, dedication and hard work can lead to success. It's our honor to help fund those seeking to follow in his footsteps.
